Diary
The fifth and sixth days of the bicycle trip were omitted because I relaxed at my parents’ house!
Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture – Anan City, Tokushima Prefecture [Cloudy]
In the morning, I woke up around 8:00 am. After a leisurely breakfast, I prepared for departure. The reason I changed my plans this time and headed to Kagawa first was to reduce the size of our heavy luggage, so I examined the weight carefully. I removed my portable chair, soap, portable CD drive, tripod, and hammer from my gear and left them at my parents’ house.
Let’s put away unnecessary things that were in our preparation!
A hammer is necessary to repair a flat tire, but a steel hammer is heavy, so I decided to buy a wooden one on the way. It was about 11:30 when I finished packing my luggage, so I went to Yokokura Udon with my mother.
Since I am a local, I knew the road for a while after I left, but after crossing Yashima, the mountain road was very difficult. The mountains were also tough when I wandered into Yojiyama in Higashi-Kagawa City (this is the only time I have been there)…. However, the water in Ado Pond at the end of the descent was very clean. You can see fish very well with the naked eye.

From there, I continue on National Route 11 to Naruto. There is no change in elevation along the coast, but I am already tired. I haven’t even made it to the Binbiya…

After a long uphill climb when entering Tokushima from Naruto, I felt like I was in Tokushima City. I ate a meal at Yoshinoya to fill up my stomach. After passing the prefectural government office, the city was getting lonely. It was about 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. at that time, and it was dark, which was hard on me. I wanted to reach my goal point while there was still light.

Today we decided to stay at the roadside station “Nakagawa”. There I met Mr. Horiken, who is also traveling by bicycle. He is quite an experienced traveler and has great equipment. He also has a fishing rod that he sometimes procures locally. He will be heading to Okinawa from now on. And he plans to start crossing the world in December! He is now 27 and will continue until he turns 30. This activity is amazing. He also cooked his own dinner. He said that starchy rice with starchy sauce is easy and delicious. I also had grilled mackerel. It was so good! I even thought about cooking it. He also recommended fishing. I will definitely give it a try.
